Flutter Festival is Monarch Ranch’s annual butterfly and garden celebration designed to bring together nature lovers, families, gardeners, artists, conservationists, and small businesses for a day immersed in beauty, creativity, and the natural world.
Hosted at Monarch Ranch Butterfly Conservatory in Bamberg, South Carolina, Flutter Festival combines butterflies, flowers, artisan vendors, educational experiences, food trucks, photo ops, and whimsical garden experiences unlike anything else in the region.
Guests travel from across South Carolina and Georgia to experience the gardens, explore unique vendors, learn about the Monarch Migration, meet magical garden characters, and celebrate pollinators and conservation in a truly immersive outdoor setting.

A limited number of discounted car passes are available for guests arriving together and include entry for everyone inside one vehicle. Perfect for families, couples, and groups traveling from across South Carolina and Georgia.
Once car passes sell out, admission may move to individual per-person pricing.
The Great Monarch Migration
Learn about one of nature’s most incredible journeys through a special educational presentation on the monarch butterfly migration to Mexico. Guests will explore the life cycle and migration patterns of monarch butterflies, the challenges they face, and why conservation efforts across the United States and Mexico are so important for their survival.
This immersive presentation is designed for both children and adults who want a deeper understanding of the butterflies they see throughout the gardens at Monarch Ranch, and in South Carolina.

If seasonal weather and conditions allow, guests may experience a live butterfly release within the gardens as part of the festival experience.

Meet Mariposa, The Monarch Princess
Returning for Flutter Festival 2026, Mariposa will bring magical butterfly-inspired interactions, whimsical moments, face painting, and storybook charm for children and families throughout the event.
Photography Policy
Guests are welcome and encouraged to take casual cell phone photos throughout Flutter Festival for personal use and memories.
To help protect the experience for attending guests, vendors, and scheduled photography areas, professional photography equipment is not permitted during the festival. This includes professional cameras, detachable lenses, flash setups, content shoots, and commercial photography sessions.
Professional photography at Monarch Ranch is reserved exclusively for scheduled sessions and approved event media coverage.
